McAfee Firewall will not start 1

Hi

I cannot get McAfee firewall to start.

I'm using Windows XP.

I've read the thread based on the error message "McAfee Firewall encountered an error attempting to start the Firewall service. The wait operation timed out." I've looked at the services that Firewall depends on and started them. But I still get the same message. Can anyone shed any light on this problem for me?

Hi!
I'm experiencing the same thing (XP, McAfee firewall won't start, w. a 'wait operation timed out' error)- but I DO have all of the appropriate service packs , (SP-1, etc.) from Microsoft (are 'up to date').

Even w. the pc being updated- am still getting this error. Ideas, please?
