McAfee error code 5022

At the moment we’ve got OS 2000.4.3(a) and all necessary patches on it. After that, we tried to install McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 7.00.

Installation was successful.

Now we’re going to update the engine and dat-file by using a sdat file and the log file said that installation was ok. But after the reboot, we got following error message and the viorus scan was disabled.

"Windows could not start the Network Associstes McShield on local Computer, review the System Event log. If this is a non microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 5022"

Any assistance would be useful

Hi Samven:

try either or both of the following:

Force a SuperDAT update by executing the sdatXXXX.exe file with a /f switch.

Manually update the DAT files by replacing SCAN.DAT, NAMES.DAT, and CLEAN.DAT files the current version
(I thin you can get the new files by running the sdat with a /e switch to extract the files and manually copy them in)
