I had a user on Windows 98 that I upgraded to Windows 2000 via the Win2K Pro CD. Of course, it warned me that the version of McAfee was not compatible (4.5). Nevertheless, we use it at my company and it works fine on Windows 2000.
However, after the upgrade, I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling 4.5.1 since that's the latest version we have. McAfee 4.5 would not uninstall due to a "Fatal Error" message. That was all it would give me.
I successfully installed 4.5.1 but when I tried to open the VirusScan Console, I got this error: "McStvbi.exe was unable to load common libraries. Press OK to close McStvbi".
Any ideas? Thanks much! McAfee's support site is not much help.
