The other fixes for Mcafee have solved the Arcserve issues for now thanks. But now we have a new "recurring" error.

We have been running a weekly scan of server volumes, on Sunday nights. Our NT servers are fine but the Novell 4.11 servers are getting this error "Cache Memory Allocator out of available memory" Does anyone have a solution to this???

thanks

You've probably gotten this fixed by now, but the answer is to increase the limit on "Maximum Cache Receive Buffers" to a higher value (under Communications in the parameters window.) This assumes that you have adequete memory in the box to begin with. If your "cache buffers" value (under Resource Utilization in monitor) is below about 20% or so and/or your receive buffers are capped at a relatively low value, this error will pop up often. I am resource (ram memory) starved on a couple of my 4.x boxes and have to unload Bkupexec's Job Manager and Client in order to return memory back to the system during business hours.

If adding memory is not an option at this time, change the above parameter along with "Minimum Directory Cache Buffers" to a low value, like 100, and the "Maximums" on both to say, 10000, and restart the server. This will buy you a little time before the values creep up and consume ram that they don't give back.
