I don't know if this is the right forum but oh well.

We have been running ASAP on all our systems for a while now and have not had any problems really.

Now our 2003 web server has stopped automatic updating. It just hangs during the update forever. It was just working fine and then just stopped. The services are both running and nothing in the event logs jumps out at me.

There have been no changes to the server or the network infrastructure during this time. Mcafee has been less than helpful with their form email reply's.

I was wondering if anyone using ASAP has ever run into this before and if there is a fix. I fear reinstalling in that I might not be able to get it to reinstall. If worse comes to worse there is always manual updates but that defeats the purpose of the software.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jitter

Thank you for the reply smah. Unfortunately it did not work but I appreciate it. I will continue to work with McAfee to see why this is happening.

Thanks,

I finally found the problem. After looking closer to the event logs I found that during that time on July 14th when it quit there were also three windows updates installed.

Once I uninstalled KB839645 the Virus scanner update ran fine. Go figure. Now I just need to figure out how to install the update but keep the Scanner working correctly. That should be fun.
