We have just been asked to purchase and install Active Virus Defence Suite.

We currently have Virus Scan NT(On all PC's,Gorup Shield (On Exchange Server) and NetShield on (Domain Servers).

What are the benefits (If any) of Active Virus Defence Suite.

Best Regards,

Andrew.

We are using Mcafee Total Virus Defense. I believe the difference is that Active Virus Defense is the Epol product. (Windows 2000 active directory / Ldap)

If it is anything like TVD there are loads of benifits depending on your situation. It offers a centralized point of client distribution. Update all your clients (Servers, Workstations, Exchage, etc) from one point with two mouseclicks. By update I don't just mean update datfiles/sdatfiles, but also Extra.dats, and mcafee settings. I am currently handling 85 servers with it, and we are going to use it for 1500 users. (seperate Management Servers)

For more info, try if you haven't done so allready.
