MCafee 4.5.1SP1 and Epo client freeze W2K client

We have a W2K client (Windows 2000 client) with SP3 and all latest hotfixes. Sometimes the pc freezes without any error in the event log.
Processor nor disk is doing anything. User even doesn't get his gina (login screen).

Can anyone help me please

not that i have a good solution, but we have experienced this in addition to a whole slew of other problems running Virus Scan 4.5.1 with ePO 3.X. BSOD, constantly reappearing Virus Scan Splash screens, performance probs. . . the only (well, quickest) solution we found was to take everyone to Virus Scan Enterprise 7.1
