MC disapearing after _width set

What's going on??

In Flash, my stage is set to 64 x 90 pixels. I'm setting the background movie clips' _width and _height to that of the stage on Stage resize. It works fine in the swf viewer, but when I embed it into an html page, the image doesn't display (it shifts offscreen).

I'm sure most Flash developers have come across this as it seems to be a pretty basic problem. Any suggestions?

It could be down to your publishing settings in the HTML file in which your swf is embedded - do you have the size set to 100% of the stage size?

Other problems could be in the align and scale settings of the stage object.
