Greetings,

Got a problem here that has persisted for some time. I tried to run MBSA and the scan was incomplete and I noticed the following:
Code:
Computer name: DOMAIN\SERVER

IP address: *.*.*.*
Security report name: DOMAIN - SERVER (4-23-2010 4-29 PM)

Scan date: 4/23/2010 4:29 PM

Scanned with MBSA version: 2.1.2112.0

Catalog synchronization date: 2010-04-22T01:09:25Z

Security update catalog: Microsoft Update (offline)

Why would the Security Update Catelog be offline? It shoud be connecting to microsoft's website.

The background is that I used to have a SUS server, but uninstalled due to it never working quite right. The network isn't big enough for the need for one anyway.

I have also noticed that if I go to update.microsoft.com, there haven't been any updates for some time.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for helping me with this.

Are you running from command line or the GUI? Make sure that you set the option for 'configure for Microsoft Update and scanning prerequisits' (/ia switch from command line) and 'Advanced Services, scan using Microsoft Update only' (/wi & /mu switches from command line).

Sorry for the late response.

I'm not sure what you mean by if I'm running from the command line or the GUI... However, I am not running from the command line, so by process of elimination, I must be running from the GUI.

To the point though... I don't see an option to 'configure for Microsoft Update and scanning prerequisite' and 'Advanced Services, scan using Microsoft Update only'

Thanks.
