I put RedHat on my box, and decided to put 2000 back on it because there are no drivers available for my sound card, printer, scanner, etc.
So I reformatted, and began installing windows, and when I have to restart the first time during the insallation, I get

GRUB

at the top of the screen. I looked in the book that came with RedHat, and essentially, it said I would have to reinstall RedHat in order to get rid of the "/mbr".

What can I do? How do I get that out of the mbr?
Thanks in advance.

Boot from a DOS disk and run....

fdisk /mbr

That will erase the MBR.

Instead of giving up, why not ask some questions in here on how to get the drivers working? You don't really want to use Windoze, do you?

So that is why nothing "happened"? I did that, ya know

c:\fdisk /mbr

and a few seconds later, I just got C:\ back...

So that's it, huh?

Do I have to, or should I, or am I going to have to start the 2000 install from scratch?

Thanks for the speedy response...

It will take off by itself...it picks up where it left off after erasing the mbr.

Thnak you, ChrisP
