Had a customer's BCM400 go down. Long story short, problem was the little cooling fan on the back of the 4x16 MBM stopped spinning making all of the BFT LED's flash and loss if in/outbound and IP trunks - along with a 50-1 alarm on the attendant console. Eventually got the little fan to start working again, alarms cleared and they were back in business. At some point we'll need to replace that MBM as I don't believe the fans themselves are field serviceable.

Noticed that the fans on the GASM8 MBM's weren't spinning - but no alarms coming from the system. Are these supposed to spin when called upon, or 24/7?

Thanks.

Not sure, I would think they are 24/7.
You said you got them working again.....so power down system when can and wait 5 or 10 minutes (cool down) and power up and see if they go on right away.
