Mbhandari,

I think I have the Nortel issue settled for now, thanks to your help, what a great forum.
However I do have some questions about cisco.
If changing the serial interface from point to point, into a mulitpoint frame relay cloud, can I take the existing serial port and modify the configuration, or do I have to start from scratch?
If so, what is the best way to reload the configuration?
Do I need to run a setup of some sort from the command prompt?
Also, I want to reconfigure one of the cisco routers from full T1 point to point, to fractional 385K into a cloud.
Are there any configuration entries into the router for timing, or is it all the csu/dsu?

Thanks for your help,
rkmorrow

hi,
For the 1) Are you talking about frame-relay p-to-p or PPP, any way if you have site manager goto configuration tools and modify the router in dynamic mode. If you config ok save it else reboot the router it will revert back to orignal config.
2) for t1 part you have to configure the speed and channel to be used at CSU/DSU only not in the router serial port. Router config requierd only when you have integrated CSU/DSU.

mbhandari,
How have you been, since i last contacted you, I have the frame-relay network all configured with the cisco routers and all is fine. I want to point a Bay Access Node router into the frame-relay cloud. The Cisco's are set to LMI=ansi, Encapsulation=IETF. I have a concern about MTU size. Cisco defaults to 1500, and Bay to 1600. I have talked to Bay, and they say to change it to 1506, or 1518. Do you have any experience with this? Any information would be helpful and thanks,
rkmorrow
