As you can see the dates on some of the files are not consistent, in fact the file 680005.c has been edited after that date and opening it in notepad seems now to have synced up the date.
Opening it also showed that it was up to date.
This came up when I need to email the zip to a customer, but it showed up as out of date!
Whats going on?

It's just another good idea badly implemented, as "Libraries" do not work very well in terms of keeping dates in sync, refreshing the library view a couple times is often necessary but if you access the files outside of the "Library" context it works as it should.

Maybe M$ will get it right for whatever version will follow Windows 10 (or maybe I am being too optimistic with that)

The difference is the Date. One says Date and the other says Date Modified.

Go to the header (where it says Date etc) and right click. Then select Date Modified. The dates will then be consistent.

You will get the same problem on windows 8.

Well spotted xwb, I didn't spot it (obviously) but then I don't see any reason why I would change the columns, so I guess these are the defaults? So its back to M$ again.

Its just a difference in the columns being shown for each view (Library vs Folder views). You can set your own columns to be seen. M$ is not restricting that in any way.

Or is that you want the same un-alterable column set in all views?
