Hi
I've only connected the drive and under disk management it shows the new drive as 'unallocated 128GB'. Can anyone tell me the best way to all the volume that's comin' to me? :)

System:
WinXP Pro
Dual AMD MP2000+
1 GIG RAM
40GB SYSTEM DRIVE
120GB IBM DRIVE
120GB WD DRIVE*
200DB MAXTOR DRIVE*
*connected to the Maxtor Ultra ATA 133 PCI Adapter Card

BTW - On startup, the drive is identified as having 189GB.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!

Copied from elsewhere - registry tweak (I've never tried this myself - no disks big enough!)

run regedit - go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\Services\Atapi\Parameters

Add a new entry: EnableBigLba (type DWORD). Set value to 1.

After a restart the non removable disk over 128GB in Windows 2000/XP is recognized.

Memoir,

Registry tweak worked for someone else (so hopefully will solve your problem).
