Hi,
Do you know about limitations in using large uid & gid
(more than 60000) startnig from Solaris 2.6?
Solaris documentation recommend to use range below 60000 where possible.
I have only Solaris 2.6 and up.
Did you have any problems using large uid & gid?

Thanks in advance,
Vadim

Hi,
The document you send me tell about some limitation in using large UID & GID.
For example:
100000 or greater The ps -l command displays a maximum five-digit UID

I check this command on UID greater than 100000 and it display all digits without limitation.

I don't sure that other limitations mentioned in this document are also correct.

Regards,
Vadim

That document was for solaris 7... I am sure since Solaris 8, 9 and 10 support 64 bit processing, that some of these limitations have been changed. I posted the link just to give you an idea of what type of problems you may encounter.
