Maximum number of tables in Access 2003

Hello can anyone tell me the maximum number of tables allowed in a 2003 Access Database?

The current database I am working on has 3026.

I can see that the maximum number of open tables is 2048 - but what is the actual limit?

It's a professionally purchased system that the client has.

Each time a new client is added to the database a new table is created.

I know this is not 'normal' - but this is how the package is written and is how the data is stored.

It's run for them for 8 years without a problem - so I guess it's doing it's job - but I'm wondering how many tables access is happy with?

Not sure about 2003 but 2007-10 have a limit of 32,768 objects in a database.

Yes access 2003 is also 32k objects.

So as the database only contains tables, there should not be
foreseeable problems for the company to remain using this software
package.
