What would be the maximum reasonable number of records for an Act 6.0 database?

I've been told that Act may be changing to an SQL server at some point and that would allow larger databases - any ideas on when that might be? Or if true at all? Tony Lawrence

The standard rule of thumb was 25k and 25 users for earlier versions. If you are dealing with anything larger than that, (depending on how many users you are supporting) you may need to look at something with more ooomph, like SalesLogix.

It is my understanding that a SQL based version will be available sometime late 2003 or early 2004. Version 6.x appears to be something of a stopgap until the coding can be complete. The entire development staff has turned in recent years and no one knew how to deal with some of the legacy code. Best is supposedly committed to seeing the change from CodeBase through and I welcome it! I have been teaching clients to use ACT! since v2.x was released. It is still the most flexible platorm out their for a small shop and there are far too many add-ons for anyone to use, which means there are a LOT of options!
