hello all
Do any body know any kernel parameter to change Maximum number
of threads limit for AIX....and how to change it.
I aleady changed maxuproc value but it does not work.
Process dies with message
Cant create more threads....out of memory error.
Increasing memory limit for the user ulimit caused the message to disappear
but no of sub processes created by main process decreased further.
Any ideas,,,,,,

Hi:
Not sure I can help.....but below are some references
for what is set for the system....in pthreads.h

What is the exact message? Any numbers? Are you
unable to fork Out of memory? What limits are set in /etc/security/limits? Did you
write the programs? and compile them?

Here is some info on threads:

==========
Limits and Default Values

The threads library has some implementation-dependent
limits and default values. These limits and default
values can be retrieved by symbolic constants to
enhance the portability of programs.

Maximum Number of Threads per Process

The maximum number of threads per process is 512.
The maximum number of threads can be retrieved at compilation time using the PTHREAD_THREADS_MAX
symbolic constant defined in the pthread.h header
file.

Good luck.
