I have installed Solaris Intel 7 11/99 onto a PC configured with dual AMD 1.5 Ghz CPUs on a TYAN Tiger motherboard. There is also 4X1024MB DDR SDRAM installed on the motherboard, the maximum allowable according to TYAN specs. During the boot the BIOS states there is 4095 MB of RAM. When I log in as root I execute the command "prtconf | grep Mem" to check the installed memory. The system replies with 3684 MB. Does anyone know where the other 512 MB of RAM is? Is there a kernel parameter that needs to be set to recognize the full 4GB of RAM installed? Is this even a good way to verify installed RAM? Thanks in advance.
