Maximum length of aliases line?

Does anyone have an idea what's the maximum length of an aliases line, depending on the sendmail version one's using?

I have one aliases line with over 200 entries in it separated by commas, simply because I am to lazy to switch to a virtuser table.

Problem seems to be solved:
In V8.7 the limit was 1024 characters
In V8.11 no more limit ? (tried with over 3000 chars)
