Can anyone advise as to the maximum form size, expressed in pixels, supported by VFP 6.00?

One opinion has it to be 2.5 x screen resolution, ie 800 x 600 = 2000 x 1500.

True or False?

TIA

Chris :)

Hello.

According to Tools/Options, the maximum design area is 1600x1200 pixels. It is true that the form can be 2000x1500, but the controls cannot be placed visualy all over the form, because the limitation stated before. So, I wouldn't mess with forms so big.

Another thing: the users rarely have monitors bigger than 17". Or, admitting that the monitor supports such big resolutions, it is hard to believe that the user will keem letters so small.

Last thing: I've tried to reach the maximum dimensions for the form. The best result is 1175 x 1594 (these are the maximum form's dimensions for the maximum design area (1200x1600).

So, I believe that the answer is FALSE.

Hope this helps, Chris,

Thanks for your response.

The reason for the question is that I have a form which "reads" a single record report table and places form controls in the same location as the report controls, thus replicating the report and giving the user a scalable, through the resize event, (less than 100%), preview, the form's .ScrollBars = 3.

What I am now doing is to allow the user to "zoom", graphics application style, into various areas of the report/form by multiplying the form and individual control's dimension properties by a factor, to give a greater than 100% preview.

I have forms with cmButtons.Top at 1200+ already and don't particularly want to find out the limits the hard way, hence the question.

Chris :)
