There seems to be a limit with the Record Style Output (no spaces) in Crystal X. Although the report previews correctly in Crystal, it does not output beyond 500 columns or so.

Is there any way around this? I also tried Text output with varying numbers of characters per inch (tried up to 25) but am experiencing the same problems.

Hi:
Thanks for the quick response. The output is for an upload whose requirements are fixed width ASCII. I did see the SAP doc you referred to and was puzzled by the lack of information on max width. For text it is 22.75" so that's out. I will probably have to go with a line continuation character which gets stripped out of the export file before use.

Hi,
I was surprised by that lack as well..My thought about Excel was as an interim format ( if it worked) and exporting from there into the ASCII format.
