Maximum amount of Memory in NW 5.1

Hi

What is the maximum amount of memory that Netware 5.1 supports. Our servers all have 2GB but we want to upgrade to 4GB. I know 4.11 could handle up to 3.25GB, but Dell have informed me that Netware 5.1 can only support 2GB. Is this right???

Novell doesn't mention the maximum amount of memory on their site (at least I couldn't find it). However, they do provide a formula for the recommended amount of memory and you can find it at

We had a dell poweredge with the same problem - with anything greater than 2gb Perc2 failed to load and no volumes mounted, Its something to do with the processor chip on the raid controller - the following web address may be a usesful startpoint:-
