MAXHATCH Variable

What is the full command for imputing "maxhatch"? I am presently using 2000 I have not had to deal with that variable since R14, and I am racking my brains out trying to remember. And of course can not find where I had wrote the command for future reference.

Any help will be appreciated

AutoCAD won't create a hatch pattern that consists of over 10,000 segments. The limit is set by the MAXHATCH setting in the registry. The limit can be reset to any value between 100 and 10,000,000. For example, to reset the limit to 8,000, enter (setenv "MaxHatch" "8000&quot at the Command prompt (with the brackets!) Jay~

that does not work, unfortunately . Autocad does not know "setenv"... But how could I put that variable otherwise?

hi......the best thing to do now is to go into the reg and change the value in there...Unfortunatly I dont have ANY version of cad on this pc, (which I will have to sort out!) but what you need to do is go to Start->Run and type regedit
The registry editor opens up.....press F3 and a search window opens up..in here type maxhatch and hit enter. Then you should see the vairable that is set, and should be at about 10,000 just double click on the icon of it on the right hand side window, and then a smaller window opens with the option to change the value...change it to what ever and press OK. Close the registry editor and (and ACAD if its open) start ACAD again.
that should be it!
