Max sets in Hunt Group (Broadcast)

Have a system that has 80 extensions assigned to one hunt group. There is a DID assigned to this hunt group that when called it does a broadcast and rings all the extensions (TDM and IP sets). This number is used for emergency in case an alarm goes off, so the emergency service can call in and have someone answer...

Question is: I thought there was a limitation on the number of sets assigned to a hunt group? What happens is when someone calls in, it makes the BCM reboot!!


Any ideas? I could make a few hunt groups and have them roll to one another and have less phones in each hunt group, but I need some validation first...

Just seems like a little overkill. How about a selection of telephones that cover the whole office in a hunt goup with a distinctine ring. So, you wouldn't need every telephone, just make sure it can be heard everywhere, and reserve ring #4 for that purpose.

I can't tell you with any certainty if there is a max, but ringing 80 telephones in Broadcast mode can't be a positive.

Just think about how much juice that ringing pulls. how many 100 Watt light bulbs can you have on a 15AMP circuit before the fuse blows?

The hunt group limitation is 30 extensions. The reboot problem sounds like a MSC core patch needs to be applied.

Marshall, where in documentation does it state this?? I seen in BCM 3.7 that max sets per Ringing Groups is 30, but it doesn't state that in hunt groups..

Although, I like the ringing voltage in the chair..

But, this application is for if an alarm goes off, the alarm company dials in and tries to get someone to answer, and call coverage across the facility is what we're looking for, and ringing across paging isn't an option..
