max number of fields?

Hi

SQL Server 2000 supports a maximum of 1024 columns in a table. This info can be found in BOL(SQL Help Files)under the index tab > maximum capacity specifications.

If you have 1024 columns in a table there is a 99.9% chance your DBA should be shot.
BOL holds everything you'd want to know like this.....its just finding it! 8)

The bigger limiting factor is that a record is limited to 8k, minus text and image columns.
