Max number of chars to pass in formula from CR to VB

I'm using CR8 and have a problem passing more than 250 characters in a formula over to VB. Is this the limit? Is there another solution in order to pass parameters? Can anyone help?

Unless you move to CR9, the limit is 254 characters.
