Max number of announcements

Hi all,
When I add an announcement with the command
"ch announce"
I see there is a limit of 128 announcements maximum.

What kind a limit is this ?

This is related
with my license ?
my software release ?
or this is a constant limit ?

first you need to check the capacities document for the specified system and software version.

When you see that there are more than 128 announcements available for your system, then try "ch ann 129" and you'll see the next 128 announcement fields,....!!!!!!

There are no limitations on license file concerning number of announements

What type announcements are you recording? If you have a system that only has an analog announcement device then you may have a limit of 2 announcements even though the form may show 128 lines. If you have a 750 type announcement pack them that is limited by the total recording time of 255 sec per card so you may only be able to get perhaps 10 recording on a 750 card before it is full. If you have a VAL card then it can hold up to an hours recordings and and the form would show at least 250 lines. One S8700 system can hold at least 10 VAL cards if it is setup for this number.

We're running into the same thing. R11 with a Val board.

any suggestions? I haven't done a lot research here, but I would believe it's based on time, not # of announcements...

If you look under 'disp sys cust' for the page that has Optional Features (may be page 4) there is an option on the right that says 'VAL Maximum Capacity?' and this should be set to 'Y'. We have 2 VAL cards in two different cabinets and it may be that the announcement page increases as more cards are added but I'm not sure. If you want to see how much time remains on the card then issue the commend 'list integrated ann' and it will display the total time and reamining time plus the time for each recorded announcement. If you have announcements that were on the card before you started then you can see them also. Note that these are the actual wave files.

I tried what Wizzkid mentioned. ch ann 257 Worked for me.. Another 128 lines added. G3RV11.
