Max memory issue on PE 2850

Hello everyone. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

I have a PE 2850 I am trying to install 16GB of RAM into it, but I can only get a max of 8. When I put all 16GB in, the server doesn't boot. However with 8GB, it works fine.

Thus far, I have swapped the chips, swapped the slots where the chips are installed, even swapped out the memory from another PE 2850 that has the full 16GB installed.

I am at a loss. Anyone seen anything like this before?

Windows Enteprise will see more the 8GB of RAM, Check your OS

Check the bios version, some older bios do funny things with larger modules. Flash it up to the latest and I suspect it will be fine.
