max length of varchar not good

hello
I'm setting up a news page on my site and I am wanting to use MySQL to store all of the news entries, but the max of the varchar() value I am using for the column is not large enought for my needs...any suggestions?

use TINYTEXT, TEXT, MEDIUMTEXT, or LONGTEXT

thanks for the reply, how do I go about setting this exactly...just something like this:

alter table blab
modify column2 longtext(??) not null;

what would I put in the ??

don't put anything in the parentheses

in fact, don't put the parentheses either

are you sure you want LONGTEXT?

i have a feeling MEDIUMTEXT is better for you
