Max length of SVGA monitor cable?

Hi guys.

Just wondering, what's the maximum length that a monitor cable can be run ( Monitor to PC ), before you start to see problems with the video/dispay performance?

somewhere around 15 feet there starts to be some dropoff of sharpness. Possibly less with higher resolutions.

I had a setup once that a 6' extension caused a "video ringing" (pale verticle line on screen). Monitor and extension worked OK on other set-ups. Just that particular combination.
