I've been looking at some specs for the popular distributions. All seem to use the 2.4 kernel, and many indicate support for LBA48 disks. What I can't find is indications of the maximum disk size (or filesystem size).
What I want to do is build a high-capacity storage server with 4 200GB disks. The controller will use RAID-0 thereby providing me a *logical* disk of 800GB. Ideally, I'd like my O/S on an average sized filesystem, and the data filesystem HUGE (i.e. 750GB). Anyone already gone down this road??
-with thanks,
Mike.

Mostly it will depend on the filesystem used.

ext2 filesystem limit is 2TB with a theoretical file size limit of 2 TB.
