Max entries in Hosts file

Hi,

We dropped our dns on aix.
We have configured a hosts file instead.
Is there a max number of entries in that file ?
The hosts at line 649 is working.
But the one at 650 is not even if i change it.
Is there a way to configure it to take more than 650 hosts ?

I have tested and you could go beyond 650 I went to 1345
lines and the entry was resolved

I had a hosts with 15000 entries and works OK.

Find out the problem.

At the end of the file it takes a carriage return (enter).
If not the last entry of the list won't work.

Hello,
Why the dns on aix was droped.

Use only VI to edit the file.
If other editor was used it left some extra character in the file and that could be the problem.

Edit the file with VI then save it and see what the results are.
