Hi all,

We are using Mercator 6.7.1 on HPUX. For one of our interfaces it is a requirement that messages should be posted in a strict sequence. The input data is via MQ.
I changed the "Maximum Concurrent Map Instances" setting in msd to 1. This is causing many messages (approx.1000) to be in "Pending Initialization state".

Does having so many maps pending effect the load/performance of event server?

Thanks and Regards,
AShish Malik

Init pending does not use a lot of resources. Set up an initpending high of 750 and a low of 250 in test to see if this helps.
Try changing the Pollwaittimemin to 10 to 20. Might speed things up.
You might consider a separate instance of the Event Server to grab the messages. Thay way, any issues with this subsystem won't effect the rest of your systems.
