What configuration could I use for the largest number of ports to use only SLS. I know the older Partners allowed more than one cabinet to be linked together to add additional ports.
I believe one configuration would be an R7 or R8 version using a 5 slot cabinet equipped with an ACS509, (1) EC308, and (1) 012E will give you a "usable" maximum of 48 stations and 8 CO lines. Because of the Partner architecture any stations above the 48 will be UN-usable, whether they are system phones or SLS.
48 total stations (keysets or analog mix) is maximum - even though you can physically configure for more. Obviously, if you're close, you need a different product...

BTW I installed a Remote PC Access card into slot 2 and programmed a PW but when I call thru the AA and dial 76 I get routed to the recept. I tried to locate docs in my manual but there is nothing but how to change the Admin PW.
I found it. The problem was the Group. It had been so long since I needed remote access that I forgot about the group.
I have worked on the small Merlins before. They always needed an 8 Con. connection for the BIS sets. Will it handle regular analog SLS and it is easyt o set up. I understand that Merlin parts are very inexpensive and built like tanks. The product has been around for ages.
What version of Merlin would suggest and model number that includes AA and VM?
IMO - there is no point using anything but the Magix R4. They are sooo inexpensive and the last release issued, so it doesn't make sense to do anything else. Load it up with analog ports and watch it run....
