We are using a Neax 2000 IVS system. I use matworx occasionally to perform certain tasks. The other day I created an extension and needed to setup the speed dialing/one touch for that extension. I open that in matworx and first perform a memory listup, this shows me all memory addresses in use and what extensions are not assigned. While running the list up i notice a error.

CMD74 de 8000 de
Hard Ware Error

Every time I perform a listup I see this error. I am curious if anyone can help me figure out what is causing this. Please keep in mind I know very little about this PBX so if possible be as detailed as possible. Thanks for your help.

Does station 8000 exist in the system?
Can you call it?
What type of station is it?

when i try to dial it, i dial the 8 and then the first zero and then I get a tone, the same tone you get when you cancle call forwarding. Maybe you could lend some insight on how to find out if it is an ext and what type it is. Thanks

Sounds like you have a station 8000 in the system that may have been created for something no longer used or to utilize corrupt VEN memory from a Dterm that was playing up.
You need to go to tools on the Studio application and select MOC.
In the window you should see COMMAND=
press F9 a few times to confirm connection.
Press 11 F8 0000 F8 and then keep pressing the Enter key on your pc till you find a LEN that = NONE.
Then type in 8000 F2 You should get back an error stating the station is already assigned along with were it is assigned.
Repost with that info.
Then press F9 to go back to COMMAND=
Enter 200 F8 80 F8 and see what the access code 80 is equal to and repost with this info as well.

I opened moc terminal. 11 de 0000 de and hit enter til I got to 0024 = none. Then put 8000 > which wrote 8000 to that location and it said ok. So i guess that means its not assigned somewhere else. Then I did, cmd200 de 80 de = 120. Thanks for your help.

What you just described is that 80 = access to trunk route 20. Possibily bypassing any toll restriction there may be set up in the system. Or 80 might be an access code to an external paging route. If this is not being used it may be wise to remove it. Check first and if you decide to remove it do the following.
Go to the MOC window and bring back up 200 DE 80. When you see the 120 enter CCC then F2.

Ok, i tried what you said, I dialed 80 and then a number and it worked. Our system is currently setup that it requires you to dial a 9 to get an outside line. But 80 also worked. So I went to cmd 200 de 80 de = 120, then typed ccc exe. Now when I dial 8 i get the tone like its a invalid extension. but i am still getting the original problem of:

CMD74 de 8000 de
Hard Ware Error

When I run a memory listup. I don't know if your familar with matworx, i use it because its easier than using the cmd manual. I understand some of the commands but some things i need matworx for. Now if I manually go into moc terminal and type cmd 74 de 8000 de = Hard Ware Error. Same result. I am confused about this. Is 8000 a memory location? Also while running the memory listup, it will show that error but continue through the listup. Once it finishes I scroll through the memory assignments in matworx and the last one on the list says:

ERR:500 Timeout

If i click on it a error message pops up and says:

A ERR:500 TIMEOUT Message was returned. Please check your system for a station that is inoperable.

Thanks again for you help.

Command 74 is for programming Speed Dial Bin 8000 is a memory location and is probably a memory location that does not exist. To access memory location 8000 you need a PN-ME00.

If you are seeing a 008002 in your listing this is command 73 and is the speed dial bin assignment. Command 74 is used to see what has been assigned.

To see this do CM>74 de 0080 de

Speed Dial memory Command 73 is allocated as follows:

Digit 1: the thousands group
Digit 2: the hundreds group
Digit 3: the tens group
Digit 4: 0 allows programming of bins/1 does not allow programming of bins
Digit 5 & 6: the number of tens of bins allocated - 02 = 20 bins

What is your listup showing? I would expect to see something like:

73>Station Number:00802-

Victor

i am not seeing 008002 in my listup, my listup goes from 000001 - 276001. Even if I just open moc terminal, cmd74 de 8000 de = Hardware Error. Here is exactly what I get as soon as I click on the "Speed Dial/One Touch" Icon in matworx. This is copied from the Moc Terminal.

Do this.
CMD 200 DE 80 DE 804.
Also in CMD 74 you need to enter the speed dial memory location then the ext.
740 DE XYYZ DE 8000
You get the memory location ( XYYZ ) from CMD 73.

8000 is the ext you want to be a speed dial right? You have it built as a station in CMD 11. See previous post.

8000 is not an ext. Not to the best of my knowledge. I have looked. I did a len and vlen listup and its not in there. Maybe i missed something. Thanks

In reading the NEC IVS Command Manual, Speed Dial Bin that cam be programmed in command 74 are 0000 to 7999 unless there is a PN-ME00 on the PN-AP00 and it has been initilized.

Without the PN=ME00, 8000 to F999 will give a Hardware Error, this is an option that has to be purchased.

The reason the listup gives that error is probably because the MATWorX programmer did not hav a way of checking if the PN-ME00 is in the system, programmaticly speaking, and therefore checked command 74 to the end of the allowed range F999.

Do you have a PN-AP00 in your system and does it have a PN-ME00 on it?

Victor

The ME00 in the IVS is actually a seperate card that works with the AP00-A. The addition of these 2 cards would enable you to have thousand blocks 8~F as well as the basic 0~4.
That's an additional 8000 spd bins.
VDG is right. More than likely the person who created that add-in did not know how to find the hardware foot print in a database so they look for the response "Hardware Error" to evaluate whether or not the card is installed. If it was there it would retun spd memory data and the application would continue on searching up until memory location F999.

There is a AP00-A card in my first PIM. Its in slot LT13/AP3. I don't know how to check if it has a PN-ME00 on it. I am guessing it doesn't. I bet your right about the matworx program looking there and not seeing that ME00 so it returns a hardware error. I posted the error I was getting because i have been getting weird errors while running the memory listup and thought that may be the cause. Its starting to sound like matworx studio is just a very poor program that is very buggy. Thanks for your help with this, both of you.. :)
