matching hardware with startup

the problem is, I tried install our DSL and ended up crashing the computer. I remove the card for DSL and reboot the computer, then it appeared in safe mode, now the problem is the hardware is not matching with the display settings........the color is gone........what should I do now?

Safe Mode uses VGA.

to elaborate: if you are still in safe mode, you will only see 16 colors at 640x480 resolution... you would need to restart and boot normal mode to get your colors back... however, if you DID reboot in normal mode and still only get the 16+640x480, then your video driver may have become corrupt... best bet then would be to uninstall and re-install the video driver...
