I was wondering something.

1. How do you go about matching a customer with a specific application?

I have a customer that sells mulch, retention ponds, and other ecological based products/services. He has about 20 trucks with a crew of 2 each that drive all over the place to deliver and install various ecological products.

He needs a piece of software that will help him keep track of his inventory, what he's delivering, when it was delivered, where it was delivered, by whom was it delivered, the monetary aspects of the delivery, and so on. I should note that he currently utilizes QuickBooks and would most likely want this application to tie into it somehow.

Any ideas on what I can match him with?

Thanks and regards,

Spacey

There is no "one" application that will do all that. What is it you do for this customer? What is your area of expertise? How will you be involved with the system you sell the customer? These are some of the questions that need to be asked.

I would see if there are any industry trade journals that you can look at the advertisments for.

I disagree with Franklin, there are lots of applications that do all that. I do not know if Quickbooks can do it, but certainly most ERP packages can do this -- Mas90, Macola, Great Plains, Epicor, et al.

I agree as well. Anything with Inventory management and package tracking modules would do it. Try a Google search on those two terms.
