What function should I use to find a match from a table?
Here's an example:
Data table
Col_a Col_b Col_c
car red 1
car green 1
car grey 2
bike red 3
bike silver 10
scooter black 6

resulting/required table:
Col_A Col_B Col_C Col_D Col_E Col_F Col_G
car red 1 green 1 grey 2
bike red 3 silver 10 N/A N/A
Scooter black 6 N/A N/A N/A N/A

can someone tell me what the right function is to do this type of lookup/match?

Thanks

If your Data table is actually going to have multiple records, then I would recommend using the "=DSUM" function.

For your resulting table, I would set it up like the following...

Col_A Col_B Col_C Col_D Col_E Col_F
Type RED GREEN GREY SILVER BLACK
car 1 1 2
bike 3 10
scooter 6
etc
etc_2

If this appears like a reasonable approach / result, and if you'd like assistance with setting up the database formulas, let me know. Or, you could opt for emailing me a copy of your file and I'll "get you started" and email the file back.
