I have inherited a 3 cabinet (linked by fiber) option-11 (rls25.30)and am getting MAT004 errors. The switch will run clean for days and then spit this out. Sometimes the PBX sysloads after. They have not used MAT in years. I never istalled MAT so I don't know how to get rid of this.
All help is appreciated.

This error does not necessarily have anything to do with MAT/OTM/TM, its just an invalid login attempt from IP Address 161.223.90.88 possibly using RLogin. So what you really need to investigate is who or what has IP Address 161.223.90.88

Thank you.
I will do that. It is going to be a challenge because they are telling me "no one is trying to login to the phone system"
They would be trying to do that over an ethernet connection to the PBX, right? Would it would be through some kind of a connection in LD 117? Can I just turn off/disable their pathway to us?

The issue is happening on the E-LAN (Equipment LAN), do you actually use the E-LAN? Do you have CallPilot, Symposium/CC6, IP Phones or IP Trunks. If you don't the easiest solution is to disconnect the RJ45 cable from the Transciever on the Meridian. If you do have any of the above working, then you need to isolate the ELAN from the rest of the Network, the E-LAN is just for the Nortel Equipment to communicate between itself, so has no requirement (with Release 25.30) to communicate with any other LAN Network.
