I can log into MAT and connect to the switch using the VT220 Terminal. However, MAT cannot retrieve data from the switch as it cannot login to it. How do I configure MAT to connect to the switch? Do I need to set the switch password somewhere in MAT, or do I need to somehow add a user to the switch for MAT to use?

I only have limited understanding of the switch & MAT, but would appreciate any help.

with the MAT Navigator window open, highlight your site, then File - Properties - Customers - Properties
UserID = the LOGI you use, (this is set in LD17)
Password = the password for this User ID.

for example, if you PRT PWD in LD22, you might have something like an LAPW 01, (limited access password setup for MAT. In this example User ID = MATUSER & the Password = MATUSER.

@TheFletch:

MAT will login even if it's not compatible with the release.

@pih7:
What is the error message in the retrieve log file???

Login into the switch and after you have logged in type: LOF. Logout and try to connect with MAT again.

If the LOF doesn't work:
Right click on the system name and select properties (Make sure all windows are closed or else you can't aply your changes). Select the most right tab and look if there is a customer defined. If it isn't add a new one, if it is select properties. Look at the first tab and the username and password must be entered there (Doesn't matter which password could be a LAPD, 1st level or 2nd level password.)

After you have checked the system, open the system window. Click on file and select update system data. If that is successfull you should be able to connect.
