MASV could not initialize

I keep getting this error message at random times. I thougth it might be the result of a user, but it even pops up at night when nobody is here. The full text of the message is:

MASV could not initialize CCS (-1497)

All that I saw on the Novell web site was a link to download and install the service pack 6a. I've never done a service pack on Novell. Is it a simple matter of copying files over? Is there a FAQ somewhere for it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've read in a couple of other threads that service packs and Compaq computers don't really like each other. My Novell server is a Compaq machine so I may just leave it be. The errors aren't causing any problems, so I'm kinda thinking that since it's not "broken" I won't try to fix it.

I don't know where you heard that but it sounds balls to me. I have worked at 4 different companies running Compaq kit with NetWare and never had a problem installing an Service Pack.

My current company runs about 350 NetWare 5.1 servers on a range of Compaq servers, and the upgrade to SP3 went like a dream! -----------------------------------------------------
