Thanks

MCT are good if you want to teach at a school for MCSEs, etc.. MBAs are good if you want to be a consultant for a Big 5 (or whatever) firm.

To go from Point A to Point B, first figure out where those two places are...

A "cheap" MBA will cost you at least $20,000... a "good" MBA will cost you upwards of $50,000... a "great" MBA from one of the top business schools will cost as much as $500,000... are you prepared? You may not be able to make your MBA pay off...

A job paying $50,000 in today's economy is good... OTOH, you may--if you have the right skills, riight contacts, and enough charisma--walk into a job paying over $200,000...

Right place, right time, right person. Planning requires a lot more thought than "what three letters do I want after my name"...

Good hunting!!

An MBA will teach you more about business than technology (if that is the masters degree you are considering). This can be handy when you remember that providing consulting services is more than just fixing a computer or bringing in new systems, it is helping a company do more for their customers with less.

Understanding technology is easy, a monkey can be taught to fix a computer or type out some html, but understanding how to use technology to improve business is what consultants should focus on.

You will not learn this knowledge from an MS test.

However, a master's degree is not really required for consulting. The MS degrees may provide you a better chance to get business in the first place. Of course, it is providing the services that the company wants that will provide you with the chance to keep the business.
