Running SQL 2000, A file called master.ckp appeared in my backup directory the day after we had a failure of our drive array. I rebuilt the server from a backup taken immediately before the failure. The master.ckp file appeared approximately that same time. Everything seems to be functioning okay now.

What is this file?
Can I delete it with no ill effects?
