We are trying to use Mail Merge to send monthly mailings to about 900 contacts. There seems to be a limit (about 100) as to how many email addresses can be included with a mailing.

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this without a heck of a lot of manual intervention every month? Thanks!

Hello jfguerra,
This problem may have to do more with how many emails your ISP allows before they consider it spamming than with ACT!

I would check with your ISP to find out how many outbound emails at one time they consider spamming and then adjust accordingly.

If you are doing plenty of bulk email check out and look at the email marketing category for 3rd party products.

Regards,
Michael

ACtually, ACt! Tech Support told us that we couldn't do more than 100, maybe 120 max. Either way, if it's an ISP or Act! limitation, it sounds as if we may have to go the Addon route you suggested.

However, assuming thiis is NOT an ISP limitation, is there an other way of "partitioning" the list so we can send bulk emails 100 contacts at a time? Thanks again!

Hello jfguerra,
I would create an email Group, then create subgroups within it with a max of 100 contacts in each. This would give you the added advantage of being able to send out emails to specific subgroups when needed.

For example:
Group
- Email List
Subgroup
- East Reagion
- West Region
- North Region
- South Region

When you do a mail-merge you choose the appropriate group/subgroup as the datasource.

Regards,
Michael

hey jfguerra

i have your answer man!! goto and buy mail merge mania.. you can set how many you want to send and how long you want the interval to be..

in other words... I send out 50 emails and then wait 3 minutes... just in case I clog up my work's server..

I am not trying to sell you on the program... this program has made me thousands over the years... you can also put the company name (or any field) in the subject line of the email...

call and ask for bob ... he is one of the owners... tell him steve sent you for the radio station...
