mass emailing

Hello All,
well its not spamming, but we should send genuine invitions to our clients about 2-3 thousand each time. Maximum email addresses will be genuine in the group but as usual some could be rejected or non existing, my question is, is it ok to send such group mails? will we have a problem for our domain for info we are using our dns to send mails.

Secondly is it fine to use email mailmerge facility through microsoft word to send such mass mails I am sure most of you have knowledge about it.

mail merge with a nice wee excel spreadsheet would do the job smashing.

The only issue may be that you mail may be seen as spam and flagged as such by external systems.
