mass close old PO's

I was wondering if there is a way to mass close a pile of old PO's that will never be received in full. The amounts that were received have been matched and paid but the PO's stay open because nothing was done about the remainder.

This is going back to 2002 and 70 pages on the PO Status report.

A sql script will do just fine at this point.

You can use 'Edit PO Status' to close these POs but can only do it one document at a time. I don't know if this is available in 10.

If you're looking at doing this in the backend, all you need to do is update the POSTATUS field = 5 (Closed). I recommend doing it in a Test company first.

There does appear to be a way to do this in GP10 - though we haven't used it yet.

As you can see here - I have multiple POs selected, and a POST option is available.

That is to post your Purchase Orders not to change the status. The PO's she is talking about have already been posted.

As I said - I never really played with it before, I just remember seeing something that could work - apparently I am wrong.

I tried a couple of SQL statements using the test company and it seems to work. Our VAR will be here this week so I'll ask them too.

We are still on v9.0
