Hi,
I just installed the internet mail connector on my Exchange 5.5 box, and it generated the SMTP email adresses using the "Alias" of my recipients. PROBLEM: I don;t like the way the aliases were set: domain username I want them to be firstname.lastname Is there any way of mass changing these aliases or the SMTP addresses without going in to each one and typing it again? I want to end up with addresses of:
firstname.lastname@mydomain.com

Can anyone help???

I migrated my old Microsoft Post office box to Exchange 5.5, when I did this I was given an option to set a template. Try to run the migration wizzard and see if you get this option.

my recipients are already set up... will this affect anything i have in place already?

Go to Configuration, Site Addressing. Edit the SMTP address. It will ask if you want to apply this only to new addresses or change old ones. Clicking the Help while there will explain your options. In your case, you want
%g.%s@domain.com

I cannot find this option.... Are you speaking about Exchange 5.5? I have Exchange 5.5, and under configuration, I have:
addins
addressing
connections
directory replication
monitors
protocols
servers

Under addressing, I have:
details templates
email adress generators
one off address templates

I thought it would be under email adress generatos, but all i can do there is see the name of a dll file.

Goto your Site
Then Configuration
On the right is Site Addressing
Goto the Site Addressing Tab
SMTP is right there.

Hope that helps! Dan
