Currently using One-X Communicator softphones(H.323) with our CM. I want to give a group of 200 users the ability to forward to an off-net number. Is there a way to mass update button assignments? I would like to update auto-dial button in CM for each station for the off-net number it needs to forward to so I'm not relying on users trying to use call forwarding. I would just have the user dial the call forward access code and then select the auto-dial button with the number I have assigned to it. I would just like to be able to do this as a mass update instead of going into 200 stations 1 by 1 in CM to update the phone number for the auto-dial button. I'm using 9630 as the station type in CM for my softphones. All help would be appreciated.

Assuming the same button is used for all the phones, you can use the Global Endpoint Change in System Manager.

Under Elements / Communication Manager / Endpoints / Manage Endpoints, Select the stations you want to change. You can use the Advanced Search or filters to help find the stations.

Go to the More Actions dropdown and select Global Endpoint Change. You will then see a generic Station form where you can navigate to the Buttons tab and change the appropriate button for all the stations at once.

If different buttons are used on stations (Station X uses button 5 while Station Y uses button 6) or different numbers are used per station (Station X forwards to XXX-YYY-ZZZZ, Station Y forwards to YYY-AAA-BBBB) then things get tricky but there are some things to help.

EC500 - Extension-to-Cellular would replace the Forward feature by "pairing" an outside number to the station so that incoming calls ring (almost) immediately on the mobile phone. Users enable/disable the feature with an EC500 button on their set. The phone number is assigned via the command "Change off-pbx-telephone station-mapping [station]". This basically does the same thing as forwarding but gives you more control by limiting the outside number.
There's lots of available information on EC500. Perhaps this will work in your situation.

User Export In System Manager, you can Export stations to an Excel Spreadsheet, edit the spreadsheet, then import again. Under Users / User Management / Manage Users, you can select specific users then go to More Actions and select either Export All Users or Export Selected Users. You can then Edit the spreadsheet and go to the Buttons tab to make changes. Import via Import Users, also found under More Actions.

I recommend this method and NOT the Station Export found under Manage Endpoints. The Station Export is good for Legacy stations (H.323, Digital, Analog) but will absolutely KILL your SIP stations. [There's a more involved story than that, of course, but still DON'T USE IT if you have any SIP stations!]

If you haven't used the Import / Export in System Manager before then I strongly encourage you to learn by exporting just one user (yourself) and viewing the resulting spreadsheet first to become familiar with how it works.

This works perfect. We're using H.323 so using the manage endpoints works just fine for what I'm needed to do. Totally forgot about using System Manager for this type of change. Thanks a bunch.
