Hi!

I am running Suse 9.0Pro from my Server it is running:
Apache
PHP
Mysql
Samba

It has a Cyrix @ 800Mhz with 128Mb.

I mainly use it to store CD images from original CD's some documentation an small LAMP project and sharing a firewalled internet connection.

So I installed Squid barely configured, I assigned only 100MB for cache (default config), I could check my email anymore. Because of Squid.

Yast (SuSE Managing Tool) recommends to use a Proxy instead of Forwarding IP is more secure.

So Do I have to use Masquerading?
Do I have to use Squid?

Should I mix masquerading and Squid?

I have noted that using Squid I got browsing performance unchecking "CACHE" on browser, but some web pages load incomplete so I have to reload them (mis-configuration?)

I got several:
Feb 25 03:24:46 server kernel: martian source 200.65.125.167 from 127.0.0.1, on dev ppp0
Feb 25 03:24:46 server kernel: ll header: 45:08:00:28
Feb 25 03:24:49 server kernel: martian source 200.65.125.167 from 127.0.0.1, on dev ppp0
Feb 25 03:24:49 server kernel: ll header: 45:08:00:28

on Server, I wanted to stop this or at least to know what is this so I am looking for a better server configuration.

Thanks
Alex
